Brookgreen Gardens is hosting The Music of Motown featuring the greatest hits from a music revolution that defined a generation. The new show, featuring four nationally renowned singers and a live band of extraordinary musicians, will include the hits from the Temptations, The Jackson 5, The Supremes, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, The Four Tops, The Commodores and many, many more.
“Every year we look forward to the opportunity to bring world class performers to Brookgreen Gardens,” explained Creative Director and Executive Producer Vincent Marini. “We always try to find a way to top the previous summer’s performance, and after our success last year with The Music of Elton John and Billy Joel, we wanted to raise the bar by featuring iconic songs that are beloved by audiences around the country. I can’t think of better way to accomplish that than by reinterpreting the classic “Motown Sound” that captured the hearts and minds of the nation in the ’60s and ’70s.”
Returning to the concert stage in will also be Brookgreen favorite and Trans Siberian Orchestra star Dustin Brayley who will be joined by a cast of accomplished singers and musicians from around the country. The show will run for four nights, September 7 – September 10 and tickets are available for purchase online at http://www.brookgreen.org/MusicofMotown.html for this family affordable fun thing to do in the Myrtle Beach area.
“The tribute concerts are a sell-out every year,” warned Lauren Joseph, Brookgreen’s Director of Marketing, “so we encourage everyone to get their tickets soon. You don’t want to miss this!”
The price for Brookgreen Gardens members is $30 and for non-members $35.
