Did you know that  beer is the most popular alcoholic drink in the United States? What is better on a hot day to cool you off, or on a cold day, or just about any day? Beer is versatile and tastes great with typical pub food such as burgers and pizza.

There are over 1,400 breweries that produce more than 6 billion gallons annually. Breweries across America include large, well-known brands, regional beers, and increasingly popular craft breweries. Myrtle Beach lays claim to 3: New South Brewing Company and two restaurants – Liberty Steak House and Brewery and Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant. Market Common, The House of Blues and Brookgreen Garden have also planned venues around beer.

According to Punchbowl.com, American beer is produced in a variety of styles, but the most popular is a pale lager. Other common styles include brown ale, IPA, porter, and stout. Fun fact: Americans drink more than 50 billion pints of beer each year—enough to fill 1 out of every 25 residential in-ground pools in the U.S.!
