Taste of the Town, 2012

Myrtle Beach has so many restaurants that it is considered a food lovers’ paradise. On October 9, you will have the chance to sample more than 50 of the most popular restaurants. Several local restaurants gather at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center to allow us to taste some of their treats for a small price.

This annual culinary event has been around since 1984 when it was created as a fundraiser for St. Andrew Catholic School. It’s now viewed as one of the largest culinary events on the Grand Stand.

Taste of the Town runs from 4-10pm and tickets cost $5 in advance or $6 at the door. Food sample tickets cost $1 each and are sold at the event. Each restaurant sets the amount of tickets it will cost at their station and it  usually ranges from $1 to $4 each.  In addition to the appetizers, entrees, and desserts being served, there will be live entertainment, the Vineyard wine patio, Budweiser Autumn Ale House, and a Kids Zone with a rock climbing wall and other kids’ activities. Awards will be presented for Best Entrée, Best Dessert, and Best Booth Design.
