On Friday, November 2, come enjoy a variety of soups for lunch at the city’s Super Soup Cook-Off Challenge! Many city departments will be participating and will send a three-person team to prepare at least 20 quarts of homemade soup (any variety) for judging and tasting to Myrtle’s Market at Mr. Joe White Avenue and Oak Street.
This event is a fund-raising event for the American Heart Association. Each team must use one item from a Myrtle’s Market vendor in their soup. Teams have three hours, beginning at 9:00 a.m., to prepare their soup, and seven or eight teams are expected. That means seven or eight soups to sample and judge!
Tasting and judging is open to the public for a $3.00 donation (includes a soft drink) to the Heart Fund. Enjoy a “souper” lunch at Myrtle’s Market and vote for the best city soup! Knowing you are getting a delicious bowl of soup for charity should make your heart feel good.
