New Stores Coming to North Myrtle Beach

Menchie's Frozen YogurtWe have already reported that Coastal North Town Center, a planned 348,000-square-foot commercial hub on the former Robbers Roost Golf Course will be a site for new stores.  The mix of those companies has changed and there is a new assortment of restaurants and retail for you to choose.

For all you barbecue lovers, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, a Texas-based business that is from Dallas, TX, will open its second restaurant to the area. Their specialties are beef brisket, pulled pork, ham, polish sausage, turkey breast and chicken.

Another restaurant which is opening their second in the area, the first in Surfside, is Which Wich,  that also has its origins in Dallas, TX. It offers more than 50 varieties of customizable “wiches,” from the signature Wicked®, loaded with five meats (turkey, ham, roast beef, pepperoni, and bacon) and three cheeses, to unique items such as Thank You Turkey®, with stuffing and cranberry sauce. They  also include plenty of vegetarian options and several healthy wiches.

McAlister’s Deli has been in the Grand Strand and offers a wide selection for any time of day: breakfast, lunch, dinner and anything in between. They offer a variety of fresh, made-to-order choices including sandwich trays, nacho and spud bars, salads and desserts.

Chipotle Mexican Grill, which began in Denver, CO and will open their second location in the Grand Strand. Chipotle dining is part of the growing fad of”fast-casual,” where customers enjoy food quality that’s more in line with full-service restaurants, coupled with the speed and convenience of fast food. They offer typical Mexican fair such as burritos, burrito bowls, crispy tacos, soft tacos, and salads using meat without the use of antibiotics or added hormones and source organic and local produce.

Menchie’s Yogurt boasts that they offer something for everyone’s dietary needs and use cows not treated with antibiotics and offer non-fat, gluten free no sugar and other options. Menchie’s is new to the area but they already have over 350 locations.

Some of the stores are anticipated to open in mid-September with others such as Publix Super Market opening in November.

There is still room for more stores but those expected to open here include:
  •  Hobby Lobby
  •  Dick’s Sporting Goods
  •  Ross Dress for Less
  •  Rack Room Shoes
  •  PetSmart
  •  Super Cuts
  •  Lee Nails
  •  Coastal North Vision Center
  • Mattress Firm
  •  Heartland Dental
  •  Fashion Boutique
  •  Bojangles
  •  TJ Maxx
  •  Ulta Beauty
  •  Versona Accessories

Would love to see MB embrace it’s inner expensive side trying to surface. There a lot of higher end resorts. We stay at them. I am used to shopping at lifestyle centers and the like that boast stores such as Nordstrom and saks. It took decades for a nice mall to open in 2004. I’ve been vacationing in mb since I was 5 and at 35 would love to see a central shopping destination center. I’ve said it before and some might agree, when they built the hard rock park, and the market common, I feel mb really screwed up. They should have built the amusement park back in the old base where market common stands. It’s wasted space as you do not need an entrance that long for a small center with apartments. This is mbs small attempt at a lifestyle center and its annoying. Now no amusement park just the family kingdom and the spot of waccamaw greets newbies with an eyesore. I come for the beach four times a year but would be nice to have something new!
