Roast of the Coast

The Salvation Army Roast on the Coast  is roasting Coach David Bennett on Tuesday, April 3^rd, 2012 at the Sheraton Convention Center. This is a good chance to support the Salvation Army and have a great time! Ed Piotrowski, chief meteorologist for WPDE, Channel 15 will be the master of ceremonies. The roasters are scheduled to be Rick Chrampanis, also of WPDE News Channel 15, Bill Alford of A&I and Mike Hagg of HTC.

Special guests include Tyler Thigpen, quarterback of the Buffalo Bills and Quinton Teal of the San Diego Chargers! Thigpen and Teal will be signing autographs from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM. There will also be a silent auction with something for everyone including a jersey signed by  Thigpen, one signed by Teal, and autographed cleats from Jerome Simpson that he wore in his amazing touchdown flip against the Arizona Cardinals.

According to Captain Bret McElroy, of the Horry County Salvation Army, “We are having the roast to raise support for programs and services in Horry County.  I had served four years with my wife at the Salvation Army in Spartenberg and we had sponsored roasts successfully. Our goal is to engage and educate the community as well as raise funds for programs and services.”

He also went on to state that they looked at several names to roast back in July and felt that Bennett was a high profile person who gave back to the community.

So come on out on Tuesday night for a chance to support David Bennett in his work at CCU and the community as well as the Salvation Army.  It  surely sounds like it will be a great night!
