What’s Happening This Weekend: 3/17-3/19

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Many bars and restaurants will be offering green beer and corned beef and cabbage this Friday so check with your favorite Irish Pub or head on over to the Marshwalk (see below).  If you are looking for more fun things to do in the Myrtle Beach area, check our list, click on the calendar.  Also click on the entertainment tab above for some night life.

29th Annual Run to the Sun Pee Dee Street at the old Myrtle Square Mall (across from the Convention Center) all weekend. Share a wonderful weekend with thousands of car enthusiasts at the largest independent Car Show on the East Coast with the Pee Dee Street Rodders in Myrtle Beach.Proceeds Show Go To The Children’s Miracle Network, National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Horry County Benevolent Fund and Grand Strand Miracle League. ($97,000.00 donated in 2016).

 

Annual Luck of the Marshwalk on Friday night from 5:00 pm on. Prizes, live music and great food as you travel along the MarshWalk collecting coins from each restaurant (must be dressed in green to receive a coin). The more coins collected, the better your chance of winning the pot of gold.

 

Beach Church 5th Annual Prom on Saturday from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Beach Church. Like any other prom, guests will have a formal dinner, take photos, and dance the night away with a DJ in a themed setting. This year’s theme will be “Under the Sea” wherein every guest will feel like they have stepped into an underwater dream!

 

2nd Annual Mac-N-Cheese Cook Off on Sunday from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm (postponed from last weekend)..The event will host some of the top restaurants and local chef’s favorite recipes. Cash prizes for the Champion and the people’s choice award. Bounce house, face paint and games for the kids while the adults can enjoy the live music, beer, corn hole and the best craft vendors on the beach. The event is free to enter and you will be able to purchase tickets for samples. We will have a ton of great raffle prizes on hand.

 

Sensory Friendly Birthday Bowling Bash at Myrtle Beach Bowling Center from 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm. The party room will be decorated to celebrate that month’s birthdays, there will be small favors, singing of Happy Birthday (if all can tolerate it) and cupcakes from Johnny D’s!!  No more worries that our special kids won’t have friends to celebrate with!

 

3rd Annual Grand Strand Optimist Club Spaghetti Dinner on Sunday from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Martin’s Restaurant (7200 N. Ocean Blvd., Myrtle Beach). Tickets are $8 and include a full plate of spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, drink, and a piece of a 4-foot by 2-foot cake.  Orders can also be taken to-go.

Whose Beach Is It Anyway? Improv Comedy Show (All Ages) on Friday night  (audience-interactive improv comedy show) and Whose Night Out Is It Anyway? Improv Comedy Show (18+) on Saturday night. Both show begin at 7:30 pm at Uptown Theatre in the Myrtle Beach Mall.
