This is the final weekend before school starts for most students so you can either relax or look for fun things to do in Myrtle Beach from athletics to music. Saturday is also A Day of Hope at the YMCA 5000 Claire Chapin Epps Drive. A Day of Hope will provide local underprivileged and homeless students services and supplies needed to prepare for a successful school year. If you have some time, stop by and see if the organizers could use some help giving out the collections to the families who are so appreciative.
Josh Turner on Friday night at 7:00 pm at the Alabama Theatre. Josh Turner is a double-platinum-selling singer, songwriter and disciple of traditional country music, a mentor to up-and-coming artists -and one of the youngest members of the Grand Ole Opry. Join Josh as he returns to his Myrtle Beach roots where he began performing as a teenager. Hear hits like “Long Black Train”, “Why Don’t We Just Dance”, “Firecracker”, “Would You Go with Me” and “Your Man”.
Friday Night Live Improv Comedy Show (18+) at the Uptown Theatre at the Myrtle Beach Mall on Friday at 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm. In this improv comedy show the players perform long form comedy, similar to what you might see on Saturday Night Live. A few suggestions are given by the audience and the players create a series of long scenes that lead to more scenes without taking a break for 60-90 minutes. Completely improvised without a script based on a few words from the audience.
Wicked Tribal Adult Glow Party at Wicked Fitness on Friday night from 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm. This is a belly dance/tribal funk fushion class like you’ve never experienced before featuring black lights, tribal glow paint, mesmerizing beats, and sisterhood. Let the rhythm move your hips while shrouded in darkness. Come out for the workout, the sisterhood, and definitely the fun. Tribal painting will take place between 8p-8:30p followed by Belly Dancing/Tribal funk fusion from 8:30p-9:30p. This is an adults only class. 18 + only…Guys are welcome if they are participating in the class.
Movies Under the Stars on Friday night from 9:00 pm – 11:00 pm at the Market Common. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and the whole family for Movies Under the Stars! The Eighth Annual Kids’ Triathlon begins at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, at Pepper Geddings Recreation Center. Kids, ages seven to 18, can participate in the day’s swimming, biking and running competitions. The popular Kids Triathlon begins in the Pepper Geddings Recreation Center’s swimming pool. Next, racers hop on bikes to cycle around the block. Lastly, kids sprint to the finish line! All racers will receive a race tee shirt, swim cap, race bag, a finisher medal and more.

Improv Comedy Show (All Ages) Saturday from 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm.In this audience-interactive improv comedy show, we’ll take suggestions from the audience about the funny things that pertain to Myrtle Beach and we’ll use those suggestions to create instant comedy right before your eyes! Similar to the television show “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” but about Myrtle Beach! Imagine a show about all-you-can-eat buffets, beach stores, snow birds gone wild, tourist traps, traffic jams 17 bypass, 501 and 17 business, a town called Aynor, foreign exchange students on bicycles, time share sales people, bike rallies and whatever else YOU suggest!
