School is out and this weekend brings outdoor festivals, art, music and theater. Looking for fun, family affordable things to do this weekend in the Myrtle Beach area?  Check out the festivals listed below.



Sun Fun Festival –  on the Boardwalk on Friday, Saturday and Sunday fun for the whole family with live music, a parade and more!

First Friday Open House – Seacoast Artists Gallery on Friday from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm.  Meet Local Artists, browse and buy some great local art – including various special buys, music, enjoy light Hors D’oeuvres, and a glass of wine or soda.

Myrtle Beach F1rst Friday Art Walks on Friday from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Broadway Street. Grab one of our brochures and check out our new artists on the block! Whether you want to munch and explore or sit down with friends and family, our restaurants have tasty treats for everyone!

The 5th Annual Native Sons Salt Games on Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 am – 7:00 pm at the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk! The Native Sons Salt Games is a two day beach festival showcasing local talent and what life in Myrtle Beach is all about! Hang out in one of our covered chill areas with an ice-cold beverage or check out the 15 different competitions spanning from the beach to the old Pavilion site! The event will also include live entertainment, music, food, beer, games and much more!

Fine Art Festival at Brookgreen on Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 am – 4:00 pm. The two-day Art Festival (9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.) provides an opportunity to talk with local and regional artists and authors. Brookgreen invites selected artists and authors to sell their works, meet with visitors and give demonstrations. The festival is free with garden admission.

Shark Wake Park opens to the public on Saturday from 12:00 pm until dusk.  Bring the family and see the new aqua park.


Local Theater

Whose Beach Is It Anyway? Improv Comedy Show (All Ages) on Friday night and Whose Night Out Is It Anyway? Improv Comedy Show (18+) on Saturday night at 7:30 pm at Uptown Theatre at the Myrtle Beach Mall. In this audience-interactive improv comedy show, we’ll take suggestions from the audience about the funny things that pertain to Myrtle Beach and we’ll use those suggestions to create instant comedy right before your eyes!

A Steady Rain on Friday and Saturday night at 7:30 pm at Atlantic Stage at Myrtle Beach Mall. A dark duologue filled with sharp storytelling and biting repartee, A Steady Rain explores the complexities of a lifelong bond tainted by domestic affairs, violence, and the rough streets of Chicago.
