What’s Happening This Weekend: 3/10-3/13

If you like festivals and all things Irish, this is the weekend for you! We also listed other fun and family affordable things to do in the Myrtle Beach area.  Don’t forget to turn your clocks ahead one hour at 2:00 am Sunday morning.

29th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival on Saturday beginning at 9:00 am on Main Street, NMB.
This one-day, rain or shine event brings approximately 30,000 to celebrate being Irish and welcome the coming of spring. A parade begins the day at 9:00 a.m., followed by three stages of live music and a children’s area with rides and amusements from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 pm with approximately 150 vendors with crafts, services, information, products, or serve a variety of treats.

Surfside Beach Barbecue Fest  on Saturday from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.“Best BBQ” along with bands “The Crave & Co.” – 10 am to 1:30 pm “Josh Brannon Band”—1:30 pm to 4 pm. There will also be local vendors with snacks, games and inflatables. On Friday night they will have “Anything But Butts” playing  from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Irish Fest at Market Common from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. It’s a great family friendly event, with something for everyone including great beer, Irish food, live entertainment, vendors and kids’ activities including face painting, inflatables and more.
Home Show Myrtle Beach Mall on Saturday from 10:00 am – 9:00 pm and Sunday from noon to 6:00 pm.

The Art Museum’s 17th Annual SPRING TOUR of HOMES   on Saturday from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm to benefit  the Franklin G. Burroughs – Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum. The Spring Tour of Homes takes you through stylish and unique homes in some of the finest neighborhoods in Myrtle Beach. In addition to a feast for the eyes, the day also offers a feast for the taste buds with a luncheon buffet – served along with an ocean view – at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club, 9000 North Ocean Boulevard, Myrtle Beach, SC from 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. $22 per person. Tour of Home ticket holders only. Luncheon reservations are required through the Art Museum.

Annual Texas Hold’em Tournament at Wild Wing Cafe, Barefoot Landing on Saturday from 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm. They have $25, $50 and $100 tables.We have  Basically, you “buy” into a table with a donation to Coastal Adaptive Sports. If you do well, you’ll get big prizes! They also have silent auction items. 34th National Shag Dance Finals  at the Spanish Galleon on Saturday night beginning at 7:30 pm.The best shag dance couples in the U.S.A will converge in North Myrtle Beach this weekend and compete for National titles.
2nd Annual Mac-N-Cheese Cook Off on Sunday from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Sara J’s Seafood Restaurant. Benefit for Surf Dreams Foundation. The event will host some of the top restaurants and local chef’s favorite recipes. Cash prizes for the Champion and the people’s choice award. We will have something for everyone in the family. Bounce house, face paint and games for the kids while the adults can enjoy the live music, beer, corn hole and the best craft vendors on the beach. Theater

Dropkick Murphys w/ The Interrupters & Blood or Whiskey at House of Blues on Friday night beginning at 6:30 pm.

Drifters, Coasters, & Platters on Saturday beginning at 7:00 pm at the Alabama Theatre. Enjoy an evening filled with classic Motown songs of the 50’s and 60’s.

Local Theater

Priscilla Queen of the Desert Musical on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm at the Theatre of the Republic. This non stop on stage party features a hit parade of dance floor favorites including “It’s Raining Men, I Will Survive, Hot Stuff, Finally, Boogie Wonderland, Go West, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and I Love The Nightlife, this wildly fresh and funny musical is a journey to the heart of FABULOUS! It has had race reviews and this is your last weekend to see it.

Whose Beach Is It Anyway? Improv Comedy Show (All Ages) on Friday night  (audience-interactive improv comedy show) and Whose Night Out Is It Anyway? Improv Comedy Show (18+) on Saturday night. Both show begin at 7:30 pm at Uptown Theatre in the Myrtle Beach Mall.
