What’s Happening This Weekend: 2/3-2/5

Can you believe it is February already?  Our picks on things to do this weekend in the Myrtle Beach area include local theatre and chocolate.  Broadway at the Beach Restaurant Week is still happening this weekend. This weekend there are also two special nights for Daddy and his special girl: Daddy Daughter Dance at South Strand Recreation Center on Friday and Saturday nights and Ripley’s Father Daughter Dance on Saturday night.

A Thing With Feathers  on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 3:00 pm at Atlantic Stage in the Myrtle Beach Mall. Is hope enough to hold a family together?  Birdie Weaver struggles to prevent her daughter Mary from ruining her granddaughter Hope’s prom and graduation.  As pressures mount and secrets spill, the damage to the three women’s relationships may become too large for Birdie to fix and threatens to destroy her family.

Whose Beach Is It Anyway? Improv Comedy Show (All Ages) on Friday at 7:30 pm and Whose Night Out Is It Anyway? Improv Comedy Show (18+) at Uptown Theatre in the Myrtle Beach Mall. In this audience-interactive improv comedy show, they take suggestions from the audience about the funny things that pertain to Myrtle Beach and they use those suggestions to create instant comedy right before your eyes! 

Last Train to Nibroc   at Stage Left Theatre in Market Common on Friday and Saturday night at 8:00 pm and Sunday at 3:00 pm. In December 1940, an east-bound cross-country train carries the bodies of the great American writers Nathanael West and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Also on board is May, who shares her seat with a charming young flyer, Raleigh. Religious and bookish, May plans to be a missionary.

2017 Conway Chocolate Walk on Saturday from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. Spend a Saturday afternoon exploring the shops and restaurants of Downtown Conway while enjoying chocolate treats prepared by the businesses.  With so many businesses participating there will be more chocolate than even the biggest chocolate-lover could enjoy in one afternoon, so fill your take home bag and savor your goodies another day.

Art Museum Kicks off Year of the Rooster on Saturday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. A free fun family day with activities, music and entertainment at the Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum.

Annual Ms. South Carolina Senior America Reception, Show and Crowning at Barefoot Resort 4:00 pm on Saturday.

Chocolate & Champagne  on Saturday from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm in Murrells Inlet. Bring your sweetie and enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres, chocolates candies by Sweeties in Georgetown and other chocolate culinary treats by volunteers and the business community.  There will be a buffet, champagne, and a silent auction.  Guaranteed to be a fun night out for a great cause!  Cash bar will also be available.
