What’s Happening This Weekend: 10/21-10/23


It looks like the weather is going to agree with all the rescheduled activities from two weeks ago.  So if you are looking for fun things to do this weekend in Myrtle Beach, we have you covered from concerts to charity events to family friendly affordable events.  Feel like seeing a show?  Check out the calendar to see what’s happening at Theatre of the Republic, Carolina Improv Company and the Alabama Theatre.

Freedom Boat Club’s Bras Across the Water at the Marshwalk on Friday from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm and on Saturday from  1:00-4:00 pm. We’re raising money for the American Cancer Society’s Signature Event, Relay for Life, to help them fight back against cancer and bring support to breast cancer awareness month. They are collecting bras and donations for the chain of hope. Each one of the bras represents the one in eight women who will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year.

Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art rescheduled from two weekends ago:  Barrett Baber on Friday night and The Company Men on Saturday night. Both shows begin at 7:00 pm at the Reserve Club.

‘Out of the Darkness’ Walk for Suicide Prevention on Saturday from 9:00 am – 11:30 am at Broadway at the Beach. This event is to raise awareness and funds for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Myrtle Beach Truck-or-Treat at Broadway at the Beach on Saturday from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. This FREE community event is a hands-on, interactive experience for kids and their families to look, see, touch and ask questions. From emergency vehicles, to trash trucks, big rigs and more, kids are encouraged to explore all the vehicles on display and trick-or-treat with all the vendors. Food, bouncy houses, carousel rides, a petting zoo and train rides will also be available.

Home Harvest/ Pumpkin Giveaway on Saturday from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm at TicketReturn.com (Pelican’s Ballfield). The Home Harvest Festival will feature FREE pumpkin giveaways (while supplies last), food, sweet fall treats from local chefs, inflatables, face painting, petting zoo, and more! Donations we will be accepted for the Children’s Museum of South Carolina and live music will feature NTRANZE, Maddie Hunt, and Sweet Sweet Dispatch. Admission: FREE with donation for The Children’s Museum of South Carolina

Dogtoberfest at House of Blues on Saturday from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm on the Deck  at the House of Blues. Enjoy live music, a pet costume contest ($5 donation requested), silent auction and 50/50. Also, we will be bringing shelter dogs! Bring your pooch out for a great time! Benefit for the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach.

Carolina Master Chorale: Songs for a Better World on Saturday and Sunday. The Carolina Master Chorale joins guest artists and speakers from the Boys & Girls Club of the Grand Strand, performing music of Hope, Peace, and Justice. There are two performances as follows: Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 4:00 PM at Trinity Church in Myrtle Beach, SC, and Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 4:00 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church in North Myrtle Beach, SC.
