2012 Summer National Championships for the ODBA (Outdoor Drag Boat Association) will be held at Bucksport from June 22-24. Bucksport is sponsoring the 2-day racing competition (on the 23rd and 24th) and hosting over 40 high speed drag boats and drivers for practice runs on Friday the 22nd. Tickets for the event are $5 for Friday, $10 for Saturday or Sunday (or a 3-day advance-purchase pass for $20). In addition to the drag boat racing competition, a live music festival will be held daily featuring the popular Tim Clark Band on Friday, Tru Sol on Saturday, and an afterglow celebration on Sunday with special guests Buck Cody and the Super Pickers.

Life in Balance will be celebrating its Grand Opening on Saturday from 10-6 with our first Saturday Metaphysics & Wellness Bazaar! Many of the areas most gifted professional mediums, wellness practitioners, and vendors will be available. This is the Grand Strand event for experiencing real intuitive guidance, alternative healing therapies, great information and our wonderfully diverse spiritual community.
NMB Turtle Trot. They need volunteers and donations. The Myrtle Beach Professional soccer team Mutiny will have a home game the night of the Trot event against the Atlanta Silverbacks. The team will give a $1 discount to everyone that goes to the game wearing a NMB Turtle Trot T-Shirt! The games are at Doug Shaw stadium in Myrtle Beach.
Eastbound Art is an art show celebrating the HBO hit series Eastbound and Down. In its third season, which premiered this past February and was filmed along the Grand Strand. Many Myrtle Beach area local residents as well as local attractions were included in the filming. Admission is free and it runs from 7pm-9pm. At Fresh Brewed Coffee House.
