Alex’s Lemonade Stand
In an effort to join the battle against childhood cancer, local Myrtle Beach residents will host an Alex’s Lemonade Stand on Saturday, July 14th, 2012 from 10am – 2pm at Core Fitness, 1141 Robert Grissom Parkway, Myrtle Beach.
Members of the community were inspired to get involved with Alex’s Lemonade Stand after seeing a local news story on Alexandra “Alex” Scott. After finding out how easy it was to get involved, they decided to hold a lemonade stand of their own.
Enhanced Speed and Agility, LLC (ESA) and Core Fitness Club of Myrtle Beach are teaming up to raise money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand, a foundation for pediatric cancer.
If you own a business or sell a product, they’d LOVE to have you as a vendor. All they ask is that any business owners donate $25 to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and spread the word! Please contact Terrance Butler at trbutler01@gmail.com if you want to have a spot as a vendor.
Here’s the fun part – they will also have a 2 hour workout which will consist of 1 hour of spinning class and 1 hour of Speed & Agility training. They ask that all individual participants raise $100 to participate, and if you want to build a team of 2 or more we ask that you raise $50 each. “BUT” the more money you raise the more free stuff you or your team members can WIN!!!!! WHO WILL RAISE THE MOST MONEY??????? Also, get creative with the team name, have fun with it!! Please email trbutler01@gmail.com to receive a participation form for you/team members. For more information contact 301-992-0784 or go to Speedy Lemons.
*Spinning Class will start at 10:30am-11:30 and Speed & Agility Class Starts 11:45am-12:45pm
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of supporters across the country, carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501 © 3 charity, has raised more than $500 million towards fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 200 research projects nationally.
Thanks to the organizers for the post.
