What’s Happening This Weekend: 12/9-12/11

If all the shopping is done or not, we have some suggestions for fun things to do this weekend in the Myrtle Beach area. One of our favorite things is the Nights of a Thousand Candles at Brookgreen Gardens for the next two weekends.

There are also several place where you and the little one’s can have breakfast with Santa.

 

Museum Movie Classics: White Christmas on Friday afternoon at 3:00 pm at the Horry County Museum.  White Christmas, is a musical comedy about singers Bob Wallace and Phil Davis who join sister act Betty and Judy Haynes to perform a Christmas show in rural Vermont. There they run into Gen. Waverly the boys’ commander in World War II, who, they learn, is having financial difficulties; his quaint country inn is failing. So the foursome decide to team up to help the general and save the inn.

Plaza City Market- Holiday Edition on Friday night from 5:00 pm – 8:30 pm and Saturday from 10am-7pm. December 9th there will be a food truck event from 5:00-8:30pm. Saturday will be a full scale Holiday Market with goodies, gifts, and food from . Includes live entertainment.

12 x 12 Art Show – Artist Reception  at the William H. Miller Studios & Fine Art on Friday night from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
This is their ANNUAL viagra sans ordonnance DECEMBER 12 x 12 Art Show where all the artwork is affordability priced work by LOCAL ARTISTS – artwork priced for $50, $75, $100 or more – available starting December 4th through December 14th from 1:00-5:00 pm each day. An artist reception will be held Friday, December 9th from 6-8PM so you can get the background stories by the artists. Artwork will be available first come first served.

It’s A Wonderful Life at Stage Left Theatre in Market Common on Friday and Saturday night at 8:00 pm and Sunday at 3:00 pm. This beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast with you as the live studio audience. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve. Experience the story you know and love, told with a twist! Don’t miss the live singers, actors playing a bunch of characters, live sound effects, uproarious laughter and heartfelt holiday moments.

Twas the Night Before Christmas at Atlantic Stage on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 3:00 pm. Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. But wait! A mouse IS stirring— because Santa missed his house last year. Before you can say “Merry Christmas!”, we’re off on the wild adventures of a mouse, an elf, and a spunky little girl who just won’t take no for an answer.

Conway Christmas Parade begins at 10:00 am and this year there will be Clydesdales in attendance.

Gingerbread House Contest  on Saturday from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Cheeseburger in Paradise. Come out and make a gingerbread house. Enter it in the contest for a chance to win a $25 Cheeseburger in Paradise gift card. Santa will be there helping judge the contest and will be available for pictures.

Surfside Beach SC Christmas Parade on Saturday from 2:00 pm – 3:15 pm.It’s the annual Surfside Beach SC Christmas Parade!  Golf Carts, Marching Bands, Floats, Fire Trucks, we have it all!  The parade runs north from Melody Lane to Surfside Drive.  Get there early to get your spot.  Bring the kids, there will be candy distributed by the various participants.

Outdoor Christmas Movie at The Historic Myrtle Beach Boardwalk  on Saturday night from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
Free family Christmas movie in Plyler Park on The Historic Myrtle Beach Boardwalk! Bring the family, comfy chairs and plan to spend the evening enjoying a holiday movie under the stars. Snacks will be available for purchase.

Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre “The Nutcracker”  on Saturday at 7:00 pm and Sunday at 3:00 pm at Coastal Carolina University.

Not Home For The Holidays Improv Comedy Show (All Ages) on Saturday at 7:30 at Uptown Theatre, Myrtle Beach Mall. You’re either visiting Myrtle Beach for the holidays or have someone visiting you for the holidays. In this audience interactive show we’ll mock all the special moments of being at the beach for the holidays. Appropriate for all ages.

Christmas Towne 2016 and Tree Lighting Celebration  on Sunday from 2:00 pm – 6:30 pm.This is a free, family event featuring live entertainment, games and activities for the kids, along with photos with Santa.Christmas Towne features the official tree lighting ceremony shortly after 6:00 p.m. on the plaza. The festival itself is indoors, and offers children’s games and activities! Parking will be free for those attending.
