What’s Happening at CCU: April 6th-11th

This month there are many activities and things to do available to the public to attend on Coastal Carolina University’s campus.

April 6th – A Tea and Ethics Presentation on The Ethical Challenges of Refugees and Refugee Resettlement. The Jackson Family Center for Ethics and Values will be presenting a Tea and Ethics presentation on the ethical challenges facing refugees. International student advisor Rochelle Heeimann has been working with refugees in the United States for over 4 years is coming to speak at the presentation to discuss her experiences with the refugee resettlement process.

Percy GraingerApril 7th – Percy Aldridge Grainger Celebration at Wheelwright Auditorium, everyone is invited to enjoy the music of world-renowned Australian composer Percy Aldridge Grainger. The event is a collective concert that showcases the Coastal Carolina University choir, the CCU Symphonic Band, and the Carolina Master Chorale. The event will be open to the public to celebrate and remember the classical sensation that was Percy Aldridge Grainger. The tickets are $3 for students and $7 for general admission.

April 11th – Percussion Ensemble Spring Concert at Wheelwright Auditorium, Coastal Carolina University will be presenting the Percussion Ensemble Spring Concert. Conductors Jesse Willis and James McDonald will provide an intriguing, harmonious evening of percussion music from other composers such as Steve Reich, Tobias Borgstrom, Brian Nozny, Brian Blume, and many more. The event is open and available to the public and the tickets are $3 for students and $5 for general admission.

April 11th – Celebration of Languages and Cultures from 2-3 p.m on Edwards Courtyard, the Department of Languages and Intercultural Studies will be presenting the Celebration of Languages and Cultures event. The event is free and open to the public and includes a variety of different activities. You can practice a multitude of languages such as French, German, Italian, Russian, and Spanish, all through different programs offered during the celebration. There will also be light refreshments given out, free prizes, and more!
