When many people think about Myrtle Beach, they picture sun, fun and sand. But we are more than that. We are residents who love our city and help our neighbors just like any other small city.
That is why the community has banded together to find Heather Elvis, a 20 year old who went missing more than two weeks ago.
A Facebook page has been set up to share information. Many volunteers have been out this weekend and last searching Tideland Road where human bones were found last weekend. An informational tent is currently set up in Socastee, across from the swing bridge until 11:00 tonight (January 5th).
The search is now being expanded outside of South Carolina and a request has been made to the Nancy Grace show to televise the search. According to the Facebook page, “URGENT REQUEST…. From what I have been told, the Nancy Grace show requires 30k requests to do a on site report and get involved, not sure if this is the case but worth a try. So get everyone you know to hit up CNN and request her to look into this case, not my favorite reporter but she gets people moving and pressure on everyone.” Here is the link to sign the petition.
The family is requesting that if anyone has seen anything no matter how small, please contact police immediately. Any tips concerning the disappearance of Heather Elvis can now also be emailed to [email protected].
