Jennifer Lombardi wanted The Butterfly Retreat to be an experience that was inspirational and that attendees would be talking about for years. Jennifer, it was all that and more! Not only was it inspirational and relaxing, but it was fun! Friendships were enhanced and new ones were made. Many thanks to The North Beach Plantation for their hospitality.

Friday night check-in greeted us with a large butterfly decorated wine glass (yes, filled) and a beautiful butterfly pin; which we wore all weekend. At 6:30, we were welcomed with Mexican treats and dancing at a party at BLU (at the resort).

Saturday morning we listened to many inspirational speakers showing us how to use our intuition, shape our bodies inside and out, grow our vegetables in a revolutionary way, and watch what we put into our bodies. We then had some needed down time to meet the speakers up close and personal or just do our own thing.

Then came the Happy Hour Bazaar! This reporter had her short hair styled into an up-do, bought a cocktail dress at a fraction of its cost and won 2 raffles! Our group was so tired by 9:00 that we just stayed in our room and missed the sassy dancing at the PJ party. We heard it was great.
After a good night sleep, we attended the Wings and Halo Benefit Brunch and were treated to omelets and more women who are making differences in the lives of others. From building schools in Africa for children with AIDS to local charities, there are amazing women doing great work right in our backyard. Many local businesses donated raffle items to benefit these charities, and yes, I won a massage!

So sorry to have missed it. It sounds like it was phenomenal! I am penciling in the November date. Thanks for writing about the Butterfly retreat. (What significance, if any, was the Butterfly to the whole weekend?)
I think the butterfly just symbolized our ability to be free to reach our potential. We received butterfly pins at check in and there were butterfly decorations everywhere!
