CityMac
Market Common welcomed a new store today and from the looks of opening day, it is one that is sorely needed. What store you ask? CityMac for Life, a store that caters to everything Apple! I arrived at 10 am and was about the 50th customer!! First I was greeted with a new CityMac t-shirt and then tons of smiles.

Angela
With Ipad in tow, I walked up to Angela asking her about a feature that stopped working a while ago. It was so great to ask someone who dealt specifically with Ipads!
GSH: “Angela, what do you think of the store?”
AH: “I think it is an excellent store for the community. The closest one had been in Charleston. We hope to make people want to experience something than just buy. We will also have classes for all Apple devices.”
AH: “People will come to check us out, but the best way is to “experience us”.”

Neely New
I next walked up to a woman who was not in uniform but was walking behind the counters.
GSH: “Are you the manager?”
NN:” No, I am the owner, Neely Neu, along with my husband Jim.”
GSH: “So why did you open the store here?”
NN: “We have been in the business for a long time. My husband’s family had an Apple Store and in 1986, we took it over. Two and ½ years ago, we opened another one in Asheville, NC and last Friday we opened one in Bristol, VA.”

NN: “(With our stores) you get everything Apple gives you and we also have other things to give; an experience.”
There was much excitement in the store and I suspect it will continue past the grand opening. Personally, I was looking at the mac pro and drooling. According to their brochure, buying a Mac or an Ipad does not just give you the technology but many other benefits including an apple tree donated in your name. Good luck CityMac for Life and we expect to visit you over and over again, especially for the classes to be announced soon…and of course, the experience.
