Coastal Uncorked is a week-long festival with over 30 events, including Restaurant Week, Theme Dinners, Kick off Events, Main Events and the Grand Finale. According to Sara Wise, Executive Director, “This year’s event will be enjoyable for everyone because there are ticket options for every person’s tastes and budget. Having a centralized location will allow guests to enjoy time spent together while still customizing their festival experience based on their area of interest, be it wine, beer, food, or music.”
So get out your calendars and block off the next week for this spectacular event. We will be volunteering because we want to be a part of this well run organization – and of course we love to eat and drink.
Beginning this Sunday, participating restaurants will offer 3-course tasting menus for $20.12. A list of participating restaurants can be found at $20.12 Menus online. These meals are an affordable way to try some of the best restaurants in town. Please contact us at (843) 916-2000 if you are a restaurateur that would like to participate.
Beer, Wine & Spirits Dinners- $50-125:
Beginning on Monday, select restaurants will offer up some amazing dining experiences to a limited audience. Purchase tickets in advance for these dinners, as they are limited seating engagements. They include:
Sip, Savor & Stroll at The Market Common–Kickoff Event $10

Beer & wine seminars will take place during three tasting sessions– Friday from 4-7, Saturday from 12-3 and Saturday from 4-7. Listen to live music on the main stage from hot local and regional bands and visit the ArborOne Farm Credit Gourmet Village to purchase food samples from area restaurants as well as vendor items. While in the Gourmet Village, place your bid on a 7-day Mexican or Caribbean cruise for two from Jean Kuhn, The Travel Lady.
Give grape stomping a try and take home a souvenir photo of the fun from AO Photography! Be sure to visit the MyrtleBeachHotels.com Hospitality Tent for wine samples from Rodney Strong Vineyards and a friendly game of corn hole.
Chef’s Challenge & Finale Tasting Event $50
Put the punctuation mark on the 2012 festival experience by attending the Chef’s Challenge Food Fight, sponsored by SCE&G. The Lee Brothers (sponsored by US Foods) and Louis Osteen, a trio of accomplished, James Beard Award-winning chefs, will judge local culinary talent who will compete to take on 2011′s Reigning Champion Eric Masson. Chefs Bradley Daniels, Andrew Gardo, Corbett Rourk, and Eric Wagner will give the crowd a show as they whip up tantalizing dishes with secret ingredients. Guests will enjoy food tastings from The Brentwood, Croissants, Damons, Gordon Biersch, Martin’s Restaurant, The Dunes Club, HGTC, and Royal Cup, plus wine and spirits tastings. Cash bar available for beer and mixed drinks. In the Silent Auction, bid on luxurious food and wine related items from local boutiques and restaurants, as well as a 7-day Mexican or Caribbean cruise on Holland America donated by Jean Kuhn, The Travel Lady.
Editor’s note: We have been looking forward to attend since the Oyster Festival sponsored by Coastal Uncorked.
