avocadoThis week’s smoothie features my favorite healthy fat, the avocado. Avocados are a perfect addition to your smoothie to add creaminess and great nutrition. Most of us love avocado when it is in the form of guacamole and served with chips so I encourage you to try a new way of looking at this very nutrient dense fruit.


Some of the health benefits you may receive from avocados are:
1. Heart protection
2. Lowered cholesterol
3. Stroke prevention
4. Cancer protection

Here is a simple but delicious recipe for you to try, it takes minutes to make and will fill your belly up with great nutrition.
Avocado-Apple Smoothie
1 green apple
1/2 ripe avocado
1 Tbs lime juice
1 cup cold water
Calories: 233 | Fat: 15g (grams) | Protein: 2.4g | Carbs: 27.6g | Calcium: 2% | Vitamin A: 4% | Vitamin C: 28%
