Sensory Friendly Family Bowling & Birthday Bash

BIRTHDAY BOWLING BASH!! Enjoy sensory friendly family bowling. Music down, lights up and room to move around. $1.00 per game per person and $1.00 for shoes. Food specials for us: choice of Hot dog, Chicken Nuggets or Grilled Cheese with chips and 12oz Soda for $3. THEN at 1:15, we’ll go into the party room, decorated to celebrate that month’s birthdays, sing Happy Birthday (if all can tolerate it) and have cupcakes compliments of Johnny D’s Waffles & Bakery!! Our families can rest assured their special birthday kids will be celebrating among friends!!

Mondays will now be Rundays at Black Dog Running Company. Starting on Monday November 7th we will be hosting an additional Group Run from the shop at 6pm. This will have more of a workout direction, versus our ever popular Thursday Social Runs.
It is unlike any other group run on the Strand, featuring a combination of strength and run. We will do a varied weekly workout of 15 minutes of stretching/body weight exercises (think squats, lunges, planks, pushups, etc) and follow with a 45 minute run to help build strength and keep you training consistently. It’s free, fun and a great way to kick off your week.

The route is an out and back loop down Farrow Parkway (anywhere from 1-5 miles) and as always, feel free to add or reduce mileage based on your particular training.

We look forward to meeting some new participants and helping you get active!

Live strong fundraiser – fitness weekend

The YMCA partnered with the Live Strong foundation to promote the importance of physical activity after a cancer diagnosis. This is a 12-week physical activity program designed to get survivors back on their feet.

There will be different fitness programs to enjoy during the weekend, (zumba, MEN of zumba, body pump, body combat, body flow, CSWORX, Strong, Ripped, piyo, and many more). This is an open public event, EVERYBODY IS INVITED!!!.

The YMCA will be accepting donations for the foundation.

The 5th Annual Native Sons Salt Games

THE NATIVE SONS SALT GAMES is a two-day competitive beach festival that celebrates the Grand Strand’s unique beach lifestyle and it’s talented athletes. Hosted in the heart of Myrtle Beach, the Salt Games features a CrossFit competition, surfing, skateboarding, paddleboarding, beach volleyball, kids’ activiites, hot dog eating contest, 5k run, beach wrestling, and more!

Our 5th Annual event expects over 2000 athletes and some awesome additions to our event spread.
