For the past four years, Beach Church has held the Joy Prom for special needs children that may never have the opportunity to experience a prom. This year the event will be held on Saturday, March 18th from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm.
Like any other prom, guests will have a formal dinner, take photos, and dance the night away with a DJ in a themed setting. This year’s theme will be “Under the Sea” wherein every guest will feel like they have stepped into an underwater dream!
Since it is a formal affair with girls wearing gowns and boys wearing tuxedos, Katie’s Project organization and Men’s Wearhouse at Coastal Grand Mall will partner with Joy Prom to help defray or eliminate the cost of their attire.
The day of the prom, friends, family members and church volunteers will help the guests get ready by assisting with hair and make-up. This magical evening thing to do in Myrtle Beach will bring special appearances and hold many surprises for all attendees.
About Beach Buddies and Beach Church:
Each Sunday, Beach Church seeks to partner with families of special needs children by offering “Beach Buddies”, a safe place for special needs family members to be paired with a ‘buddy’ so their families may attend church services. Beach Church is a non-denominational church that meets on Sundays at 9:30 and 11:15 at 557 George Bishop Pkwy in Myrtle Beach.
