Sherrie

Sherrie

Hi, my name is Sherrie Glensky. I’m a spin class enthusiast, proud mother of two twenty-somethings and a Bichon Frise, and a self-entrepreneur specializing in small business and accounting. I grew up in New Jersey where I went to college and grad school and began my career in accounting and finance. After marrying my husband, a driven financial analyst who moved from the Midwest to work in New York City, we moved to a suburb of Philadelphia and raised our children, Amanda and Kyle. We lived in the Philly suburb for the past 24 years. Six years ago, my family came to Myrtle Beach on vacation and decided to buy a townhouse in Barefoot Golf and Resort. After two years of rough winters, my husband finally convinced me and Kyle to leave the Northeast and move to the South. By this time, Amanda had already graduated college and moved to DC. We sold our PA home and became SC residents on July 22, 2011. But before we sold the house and went south, I met Angela and Tina, the women behind Media Happenings (the licensing company to Grand Strand Happening) because they were looking for an accountant. After learning about what they did, I decided that exploring my new hometown and blogging sounded like so much fun that I was ready to change careers. So here I am, out and about on a daily basis. I want to be your main guide to all things fun in The Grand Strand. I’ll tell you everything that is GrandStrandHappening.com!
