In February of 1977, Elvis Presley performed to a sold-out audience at the Carolina Coliseum. 40 years later his life, legacy and music will be celebrated when Legends in Concert theater hosts the third annual Myrtle Beach Elvis Festival April 27-30.
That’s right, Myrtle Beach will celebrate Elvis’s legacy next weekend!
Part of the ElvisFestival.com series of events, the four-day festival will feature Las Vegas-style concerts, the Legends in Concert show, free Elvis entertainment in Burroughs Chapin Pavilion Park on Thursday night and Sunday morning, and Elvis Tribute Artists (ETA’s) from around the globe vying for the champion’s crown and almost $5,000 in prize money.
“We have twenty-three Elvis tribute artists scheduled to compete in front of hundreds of Elvis fans” said Jason Sherry, Executive Producer of the ElvisFestival.com series of events. “This year’s pool of talent include contestants from around the corner in Myrtle Beach, as well as ETAs from throughout the east coast and Canada.”
This fun thing to do in Myrtle Beach will feature two headline shows. Legends in Concert on Friday night with Legend’s resident Elvis, Travis Powell performing along side tributes to other music legends. On Saturday night, Legend’s theater will host a special show called “Elvis: The Legend,” which stars long time Myrtle Beach favorite Ryan Pelton, along with Powell, Austin Irby and Cote Deonath.
Additional festival highlights include After Hours parties held at local bars each night and an Elvis Gospel event to be held on Sunday morning at the beach.
