The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach is having a special adoption promotion for black cats today, Friday, July 13th. They are available for $13, which includes spay/neuter and vaccinations. The Humane Society’s clever promotion is an effort to draw attention to a problem that shelters all over the country are dealing with; the large number of cats, especially black cats, needing homes.
“Black cats are usually overlooked in shelters for superstitious reasons,” stated Tina Hunter, Shelter Manager. “It’s much more difficult to find a home for black cats. Our goal today is to make this a very LUCKY Friday the 13th for the black cats in our care by placing them all in forever homes.”
Currently the North Myrtle Beach shelter has 140 cats available for adoption, with 52 of those being black cats. Anyone interested in adopting can stop by the shelter today from 11:00 am – 6:00 pm to adopt.
The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach is located at 409 Bay Street in North Myrtle Beach. For more information on this promotion and many others visit www.humanesocietynmb.org or call (843) 249-4948.
